The Cheltenham Festival of arts

 

Danceworks has taken a step into the wider world of dance competition!  We have had an exciting week with many dancers competing in ballet solos,  tap trios and street dance group categories.  To put the cherry on top, we have won several first place positions!  Grace Holland achieved first place in her lyrical dance category and was complimented on her inspiring performance and technique, with innovative choreography by Liz.   

The Danceworks street dance team, aged between 11 and 14,  performed a fresh, vibrant routine combining SJ’s American hip hop and street jazz choreography.   The team were thrilled to take first place in this brand new category, and had very encouraging comments from the judges who especially appreciated their commitment to strong movement and sense of team work.   

Well done to all the dancers who took part and represented the school so brilliantly over the past week!
